Some Ghanaian Movies You Should Definitely Check Out on Netflix

Even though the Ghanaian movie industry seems to suffer a few setbacks, some filmmakers have managed to produce quality movies that are now showing on Netflix.

Below are some of the movies.

Aloe Vera (2020)

This movie is about a community that was later divided into two due to some misunderstanding.

These two communities use color in every literal sense.

Be it the pages, their homes, and their alert whistles.

Veralin belongs to the Vera community, and Aloewin belongs to the Aloes. She gets pregnant and is carrying Aloewin’s child. This child brings the two communities together again.

Sidechic Gang (2018)

Three female friends find out they can make fortunes from exposing cheating husbands and boyfriends after making tons of cash unexpectedly from reporting a cheating husband to the wife.

They quit their job to set up “Sidechic Gang” – an agency solely dedicated to exposing cheating husbands.

Their services are available to only women. After a few exposè, their Sidechic Gang becomes popular, attracting traffic from victims of side chicks.

Away Bus (2019)

Two Sisters – BIBI and KIKI, have to raise twenty thousand Ghana cedis within 12 hours for emergency surgery to save their dying mother.

When all attempts to get help from family and friends failed and the clock ticks, they decide to try a highway bus robbery to raise the funds. It is a successful robbery.

Just as they are about to celebrate their success, a different team of armed robbers shows up at the scene and robs them of everything they had robbed.

Keteke (2017)

This movie is about a couple embarking on a journey.

After several hours and trekking, they miss the train that runs once a day to their destination.

With no other way out, they remain stranded. This tests the strength of the couple’s bond and quest to deliver their first child, highlighting the frustration they had to go through while they were stranded.
